The company has just released the new 1.2 Firmware that includes time-lapse recording, aperture indicator when using compatible EF lenses, ExFAT formatting for SSD disks, SDI output support for RP-188 timecode and Thunderbolt support for Windows.
The available time-lapse settings are as follows:
- Frames: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
- Seconds: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60
- Minutes: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
We think people are probably most excited about the new time-lapse feature as well as the aperture indicator. It’s also a good sign that Blackmagic has been so on top of these firmware updates. It really speaks volumes about the company and its commitment to making a quality product with all the features that filmmakers would like to see. Hopefully, the next update will give the camera the ability to erase clips from the SSD.
