For the past three years, the Canon C300 has been our most popular and beloved camera rental for the past 3 years. Now, Canon has released its successor, the C300 Mark II. We received our first Mark II last week, and that means we’re officially renting the Canon C300 Mark II right here at Stray Angel Films!
If you aren’t familiar with what’s new on the C300 Mark II, our very own Josh Burrows made a quick video to cover some of the highlights.
As Josh states, the biggest difference is the ability to shoot 4K. Higher frame rates are now possible, up to 120fps in 2K or HD.
The camera will use CFast cards instead of CF cards to handle the new data rate. It uses new batteries as well: the BPA-30 & BPA-60. These batteries are more expensive, $300 and $500 each, which is something to keep in mind if you are a shooter thinking about upgrading.
